Catechesis (from the Greek word katēkhēsis meaning “instruction by word of mouth”) is the act of handing on the Word of God so as to inform the faith community about the teachings of Christ. It is a lifelong process of forming people into witnesses to Christ and opening their hearts to the spiritual transformation given by the Holy Spirit. As adults, we all seek to deepen our love of Christ. To that end, programs are offered from September through May in the form of mini-retreats and small-group programs with an emphasis on understanding how Sacred Scripture applies to living our Christian faith in today's world. Information about upcoming programs can be found here and in our regular communications such as the weekly bulletin and e-news or by contacting Danette at dmorris@staugustineparish.org

Mini-retreats
A valuable part of the Adult Faith Programs, the monthly mini-retreats allow participants to learn from each other's faith experiences and to share their own. Held in the parish center one Thursday a month from 12:30-3:30 pm, each retreat focuses on a specific, seasonal theme and includes prayer, private reflection, video segments and group discussion. There is no fee.
