The St. Augustine Senior Ministry exists to provide a service to the oldest and most cherished members of our parish so that they may gather together on a regular basis to socialize.  Some of our seniors are without families and our parish serves as a means to bring them together as part of the larger parish family.

The steering committee of this ministry consists of 11-12 members, seniors themselves, who plan the monthly First Friday luncheons and the annual Thanksgiving luncheon.  Each First Friday from September through June, our seniors gather in our parish center for luncheon following the 10am Mass with the children from St Augustine School.  During the luncheon, we celebrate the birthdays of the month for our seniors with singing and cake.  Musical accompaniment is provided by John D’Ambrosio, the nursing ministry is present to conduct free blood pressure checks, members of the Homebound Ministry are on hand to meet with our seniors, and several 7th grade students from the school help with serving. Through the luncheons, our seniors support the Pregnancy Care Center with donations of baby items and money.
