St. Augustine School and Parish – Annual Turkey Dinner Drive

St. Augustine School and Religious Education Program are sponsoring our Annual Turkey Dinner Drive!  This drive benefits our brothers and sisters in Christ who are served by Lazarus House Ministries.  Thanks to your generosity, St. Augustine School and Parish has provided needy families with thousands of complete turkey dinners and with your help will do so once again!

Here’s how parishioners can help:

  1. Bring in food items from the list below to the parish center on Monday November 19th from 9am-5pm
  2. Donate a frozen turkey on Monday, November 25th – drop off from 9am-5pm and at the St. Augustine School front door (in large baskets near the doors) or at the Parish Center.
  3. Volunteer Monday, November 25th at the Parish Center from 5-6pm.
  4. Help unload food at Lazarus House on Monday, November 25th after 6pm (should take about an hour). A permission slip will be required for children not traveling or working with their own family.

List of items: canned food items (potatoes, green beans, corn, peas, mixed vegetables, tomato products, gravy, cranberry sauce, pasta, soup, tuna fish, coffee), dried  stuffing, dried pasta, peanut butter, juice boxes

By including non-traditional Thanksgiving food items, we hope to provide food to feed families throughout the Thanksgiving weekend. The needs of the homeless in our community have, unfortunately, grown.  Please do what you can.

This project offers a wonderful opportunity for each member of the family to participate in various ways from purchasing food items to sorting, packaging and delivering the items.   We hope everyone uses the drive as a time to reflect on the blessings we have been given in our lives and homes.  Extra donations are always welcome!

Thank you and God bless you!  Happy Thanksgiving!
