Who we are:
The Youth Ministry is open to any student in grades 9-12. Together, we will explore what it means to be a Catholic young man or woman. We will seek to be joyful, positive, and kind as we practice our faith together and become the people that God has made us to be!
When do we meet:
We meet for an hour, once a month on Sundays during the school year (September - May). The 2025-2026 is being finalized and will be published soon.
What we do:
Together, we will do different activities. Our activities are selected by our Teen Leaders. In 2024-2025, we hosted dinner at the Lazarus House, participated in the Lazarus House Hike for Hope, sponsored a family in need at Christmas and much more!

Frequently Asked Questions from parents and teens:
My son / daughter received Confirmation but has not been involved in anything since his/her sacrament. Are they welcome to attend?
Absolutely! Any 9-12th grader is welcome!
I can only attend some of the meetings. Sometimes i have a conflict. Is that a problem?
It is not a problem! This is a drop-in group with no additional commitments. Come as often as your schedule allows.
My son/daughter is looking for Leadership experience. Are there opportunities with this group?
Yes! Ideally, this group is student-led. There are two parent volunteers to help facilitate our meetings but we believe that the more teen involvement and leadership we have the better our group will be!
I am a high school student and need to get Service Hours as a graduation requirement. Does this count?
Yes! We have plenty of opportunities within our Group to obtain service hours and our adult facilitators will be happy to support you.
We belong to a different parish but would like to be involved in a Teen Ministry program. Can I join?
Yes! We value a diverse set of students and think Youth Ministry can be a great place to meet new friends and connections. Our teen leaders for 2024 - 2025 represent three different high schools - Andover High, Central Catholic and Malden Catholic. All are welcome!

Mary Cassidy: Hi! I was born and raised in Andover and was a long time parishioner of St. Augustine's Parish. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this ministry back to the St. Augustine Community and our students. My hope with our Youth Group is to create a welcoming community for teens to unwind, be themselves, stay connected and explore what being a Catholic beyond Confirmation can mean for them. I live in Newburyport with my husband and 7th grade son. I work in biotechnology and am an active volunteer with the Villanova Alumni Association.
Eric Landers: I am an Andover Dad working to raise a trio of Saints. I have enjoyed teaching Confirmation classes and coaching youth basketball. I forward to working with youth of the parish who seek to have some fun while living out their Catholic faith!
